Have a number in mind that you don't want to exceed and then review trade-offs. Take stock of what you already have (e.g., we used my kid's crafts from preschool to decorate the space). Make sure to buffer a little bit for miscellaneous expenses. ![]() ![]() This will help you anchor on a ball-park figure and determine if you can add in some bells & whistles or look at measures to bring the cost in. Budget: As a first step, outline key event expenses and have a range of estimates against it (for us, this was venue and food).Our #1 goal was to have fun with kids, and do the least amount of work ourselves doing so :) In order to support that clear objective, we decided to outsource the event facilitation and have food & cake catered.
